URBAN STUDENT ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY (USADA)
BCOMM partnered with Urban Student Athlete Development Academy (USADA), a 501(c)(3) NonProfit Corporation focused on educating student athletes in their overall personal development, to design a Press Kit and Website to support their capital campaign, “Changing the Game”.
The San Francisco/Bay Area program uses athletics to enhance the lives of students and bring positive outcomes; increasing the number of students prepared for college, careers, and life after sports.
Bridging Youth Athletics & Academic Success
During our Discovery Call with USADA Co-founders, Celestino "Tino" Rimando-Ellington and William "Bill" Shannon, we learned about the challenges that young student athletes often face while balancing school work and their passion for sports. More specifically, young people who reside in historically underserved districts within San Francisco, often don’t receive the academic, athletic, or community support resources they need to be successful during this crucial time.
Both Tino and Bill’s extensive backgrounds in building community-based programs in the Bay, along with their passion to empower young student athletes who typically would not have access to a student athlete program for high school readiness, inspired them to establish USADA.

Changing The Game: A Capital Campaign
We worked closely with USADA to develop design collateral for their funding campaign, “Changing The Game”, with the goal to raise
to fund XLR8, a hybrid high school preparatory program exclusively for middle school-aged student athletes.
Fueling Fundraising Success With A Comprehensive Press Kit
Here at BCOMM, we understand that a successful Press Kit is not only about providing information but also presenting it in an engaging and visually appealing manner. With that in mind, we worked closely with USADA to feature concise "to the point" copy, accompanied by imagery and branded elements that represent the Program in a professional and impactful way.

Building an Effective Mechanism for Campaign Donations
Once the Press Kit was completed, we designed and built a Campaign Website that would allow prospective donors to learn about the Program, hear from parents and students themselves, evaluate the Campaign Donation Levels, and submit the Donation directly to USADA via their fiscal sponsor, Youth Community Developers.
As we completed the website, we kept in mind the key attributes that make a Capital Campaign website successful.
