Our goal was to amplify the voices of young people navigating housing insecurity while increasing awareness of 3rd Street’s wraparound services. BCOMM curates monthly content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter that spotlights 3rd Street’s mental health resources, reproductive care, housing services, youth leadership programs, and more, empowering young people to seek support, and helping the public understand the power of their mission. Reproductive Justice in Action: Rising for Reproductive Justice Campaign We supported 3rd Street’s launch of their Rising for Reproductive Justice Campaign, an end of year initiative aimed at raising $40,000. The campaign called on the community to support reproductive health access for youth and young women in a time of increasing need. From mental health to workforce readiness, the newsletter is a critical tool for driving engagement and visibility. Elevating Big Wins: Press Release Support BCOMM supported communications announcing 3rd Street’s historic $2.5 million grant from Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez through the Bezos Day 1 Families Fund. The press release celebrated the recognition of 3rd St.’s powerful work to address youth and family homelessness in San Francisco. PORT OF SAN FRANCISCO JUNETEENTH ON THE WATERFRONT Services Graphic Design Community Outreach BCOMM worked with the Port of San Francisco and SlowClap Productions to design and produce branded posters to highlight Black-owned businesses located on Port property along the SF waterfront! The posters were displayed at the 2nd Annual Juneteenth Celebration in front of the Ferry Building. Anchor 1 BCOMM coordinated a photoshoot for RedBay Coffee, SpinOut Fitness, Yes Pudding, and Queen's Louisiana Po Boy Cafe with SlowClap Productions, to capture each business owner for a “Day in the Life” at their company’s. Once the design was approved, we worked with CopyMat and Abbey Party Rentals to print and successfully display the posters for the event, along the waterfront! EMERALD CITIES COLLABORATIVE Services Graphic Design BCOMM partnered with Emerald Cities Collaborative (ECC) , a national non-profit organization championing sustainable development projects, to provide logo design services. The small businesses we worked with participated in ECC’s E-Contractor Academy , and were located in the SF/Bay Area. ECC's E-Contractor Academy is a seven-week training program where small, women-owned, minority, and disadvantaged business contractors learn how to execute energy efficiency and renewable energy retrofit projects. The program provides various support services, including procurement assistance, training/technical guidance, mentoring in the energy efficiency/renewable sector, monitoring and compliance, affiliation with building and construction trade unions, and, most recently, logo design services. Here’s a snapshot of the logo design projects we completed! Anchor 1 Creative Adaptive Thinking Inc. (CAT) Creative Adaptive Thinking Inc., (CAT) specializes in offering performance improvement training to large corporations and project/product management training to professionals. We worked closely with the Cantechtools team to create a design that emphasized their commitment to sustainability and eco-conscious practices. AFRO NATION DETROIT 2023 Services Contract Negotiation Project Management Communications Graphic Design Partnerships BCOMM supported Bedrock, Detroit's leading real estate developer and the principal sponsor of Afro Nation Detroit, by providing Contract Negotiation, Project Management, comprehensive Communications, and Graphic Design services, to bring the world’s biggest Afrobeat festival to the motor city! Anchor 1 An incredible event, Afro Nation Detroit was made possible through collaboration between Bedrock, Event Horizon (the brand owners of Afro Nation), and Paxahau (the producers of Afro Nation Detroit)! Overall, the event served as a reminder of the vast talent and creativity that Black people from Africa, the diaspora, and America have contributed to the world! The two-day festival spanned two stages, and included performances by Burna Boy, Davido, P-Square, Ari Lennox, Latto, Coi Leroy, and more notable artists in the Afrobeats, Amapiano and R&B/Hip- Hop genres! There were also a series of lead up events outside the main festival days, including an Everyday People party, “Homecoming Conservations”, a panel discussion featuring both music and community leaders; the Jerk x Jollof Welcome Party, a traveling dance party with African and Caribbean music and cuisine; and the Laughing Leopard Comedy Show, a comedy event featuring comedians from Detroit and the UK! Afro Nation Detroit had over 20,000 Attendees From Around The World! Success! FJP is a branch of the San Francisco Office of Treasurer & Tax Collector that works to reform how fees and fines impact the City’s low-income residents and communities of color. In the campaign for San Francisco Museums for All, we helped FJP raise awareness around this incredible program that provides all San Franciscans who receive Medi-Cal or CalFresh, with free or discounted access to over 15 museums and cultural institutions in San Francisco. Anchor 1 Launched by Mayor London Breed in 2019, and in collaboration with Treasurer José Cisneros , the year-round program offers eligible residents up to 4 free tickets each time they visit their favorite museums and cultural institutions. With more than 225,000 eligible San Franciscans, BCOMM worked closely with the client to devise a targeted outreach strategy that communicated... Museums offer engaging and enriching activities for the entire family! Museums are for everyone, regardless of income . All San Franciscans deserve access to the incredible art and cultural institutions that the City has to offer. Museums are open for in-person visits and the health and safety of guests is a top priority. The San Francisco Museums For All program is now year-round! Eligible residents can receive up to 4 tickets each time they visit by showing their EBT Card or Medi-Cal Card and proof of San Francisco residency. Designing The Campaign We worked closely with the client to design social cover images as well as graphics to share across the San Francisco Financial Justice Project’s social media channels. Once a look and feel was established and approved by the client, we scheduled and shared the content on their social media feeds and set up hyper targeted ads to San Francisco residents. Using a video produced by BAYCAT, a non-profit production studio, we used YouTube to promote the program over a one-month-long period. YouTube Engagement 20K + Video Views In-language Media We worked with Hecho En California to coordinate radio interviews with Treasurer José Cisneros. 00:00 / 07:09 We also worked with World Journal, a prominent Chinese newspaper in San Francisco, to secure digital and print media placements. ECONOMIC EQUITY NETWORK Services Logo Design Branding Public Relations Event Planning Landing Page Design BCOMM helped launch the Economic Equity Network (EEN) at Allen Temple Baptist Church in Oakland, an initiative to help transform communities of color using Opportunity Zone capital. Anchor 1 Opportunity Zone Capital i s highly debated, as to whether it is just a tax credit benefit for the wealthy that will be used as a mechanism to accelerate gentrification, or if it will create the 'opportunity for true community wealth building in communities that have historically suffered from disinvestment. We believe the latter. Anchor 2 There are over 8,700 opportunity zones across the nation awaiting billions of dollars in investment. These dollars must flow through Qualified Opportunity Zone Funds, and then ultimately, Opportunity Zone Projects, both of which are being created by Entrepreneurs of Color and Women. The goal was “to start a movement, one of beauty and eloquence, but also encompassing a certain edginess that represents the current generations tastes." Anchor 1 TWELV needed to establish a readership base and enter the market with a bang, to drive sales and views to its' website. To do that... TWELV needed a celebrity for the cover. CEO of Bonner Communications, and consultant PR Director of TWELV, Noelle Bonner, pitched Mischa Barton’s publicist on the concept of TWELV…they were sold. Mischa Barton was a few years post her popular show “The O.C.”, had survived a few media scandals and was now making a comeback. Hissa Igarashi, the creative director of TWELV and the creative team flew to LA for the cover shoot. The final image was beguiling, visually captivating and genius all at the same time… Mischa in a white matronly Jill Stuart dress holding a stranger’s baby. TWELV’s first issue was picked up by Good Morning America, E News, The Huffington Post Style Section, fashionista.com, NYMag.com and many more fashion websites and blogs… TWELV had its' celebrity and a buzzworthy cover that was going carry the 1st issue of the magazine off shelves and into people’s homes.
